Don't Forget!

Psalm 103:1-4 "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's."

So quickly! Ahhh...I forget so quickly. The Lord has done so many great things, and I forget so quickly. Let's not forget.

Deuteronomy 4:9 "Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them."

Camp is going well! We are in the middle of week 5 of 11. This weekend is switch over week, where the 1st half staffers go home and the 2nd half staffers return to begin camp. Sad goodbyes, but much needed new energy.

Nehemiah 8:10 "The joy of the Lord is your strength."

Wow...this has been an incredible week! ORIENTATION! That means that our 950 or so summer staffers have been on camp grounds training to prepare their hearts and minds to shepherd campers this summer. It's going to be incredible. Today we had some quality time discussing our Bible Study and learning how to run activity classes...Here's a photo of our Shores counselors getting into the Word together.
This week I had to talk to the girls about what it means to be rebuked...I really learned alot and my eyes were really opened to the connection of discipline and love. Here are the verses the Lord has used to instruct me...
Proverbs 9:8 "Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you."
Proverbs 28:23 "He who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favor than he who has a flattering tongue."
Proverbs 27:5 "Better is open rebuke than hidden love."
Ecclesiastes 7:5 "It is better to heed a wise man's rebuke than to listen to the song of fools."
The Lord is good, all the time. Lamentations 3 tells me that his compassions never fail. Praise the Lord for his faithfulness!

WELCOME TO THE SHORES! This Week has been a week of building new relationships as we "beautify" camp. It's really looking great, and all the staff has been working hard! Last night we spent a good amount of time praying over camp and encouraging one another with stories of things the Lord had taught us throughout the day.

I'm learning that I need to hear the gospel everyday. I so often forget all the incredible things Christ has done in my life. So here's something I thought on today:

Colossians 1:13 "For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

I really was living in sin and darkness, and the Lord, by His mercy, saved me. All glory to God!

The Kirks come to Tyler!

Here's a sneak peak at my new room in Tyler! My parents drove in today to drop off some furniture...woop woop! We ate at a great barbecue place called the Purple Pig, and then I gave them a tour of our 6 Pine Cove camps we have here in Tyler: Woods, Towers, Bluffs, Ranch, Timbers, and my camp...the SHORES! Dad just got a new phone with a camera which has made this trip quite entertaining. Today all of the guest relations girls moved into one house...talk about beautiful chaos. Psalm 101:2 "I will be careful to lead a blameless life-when will you come back to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart." That's my prayer for this home the Lord has given to me. Praise Him for His provisions!

...Tyler, TX

Jeremiah 17:5-8

This is what the Lord says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. He will be like a bush in the wastelands, he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desrt, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

I have moved to Tyler, Texas this week to start a job as the Guest Relations Coordinator at the Pine Cove Shores Camp. I moved in on Monday, May 10th, and started work 2 days later. It's been wonderful thus far, and the Lord has definitely prepared the way for me. My new roomies are great, and I'm learning so much each day. Pine Cove is such a huge ministry, and I look forward to learning how in operates. Sooo much more to come. Welcome to my blog! I love and miss my Mississippi friends and family!
